It is instinctive to us all
to massage an area to relieve pain and discomfort or to relax and calm a
person. Massage has been used since the earliest civilizations to
heal, invigorate, soothe and beautify the body.
The treatment involves the
pressing, kneading, squeezing and gentle pounding of the soft tissues of
the body to relieve tension, detoxify and increase blood flow.
Massage is beneficial in many ways, including:
-
relaxing both mind and body
-
easing
muscular aches and pains
-
promoting
good circulations
-
encouraging
better sleep patterns
-
relieving
the symptoms of stress
-
aiding
digestions
-
ridding the
body of toxins
-
improving
skin condition and muscle tone
A short consultation is
required to ensure the suitability of massage treatment for a client and, in
certain cases, medical consent may need to be sought before treatment can
commence. All personal information will be handled in the strictest
confidence.
Body massage can include the
whole body (from scalp to toes); the back, neck and shoulder area; or the
feet and legs. Other areas, such as the head and face, can also be
focused on if a client requests.
A client’s
modesty is protected throughout the treatment, with only the area being
worked on uncovered at any time. The client is in full control of
the massage at all times, their comfort and well being is paramount.
I aim to provide a warm, comfortable,
relaxing environment in which a client can switch off and allow the
massage to promote the body’s
own natural ability to heal itself and balance its energies. |
